The role

Our new Product Developer will focus primarily on our Bar and Beverage ranges which includes EPD and NPD projects; anything from improving our Daily A-Z Vitamins flavour profiles, working on a new flavour of our Complete Nutrition bars or even support on an entirely new beverage / bar concept! Whatever it is, you’ll be passionate about flavour and ready to take the world of Beverage & Bars by storm!

You will ensure that our products are always meeting our Hueligan’s expectations by driving innovation with ingredients used to improve customer satisfaction whilst driving our sustainability strategy. 

• You’ll be hands-on for the beverage product development in our on-site NPD academy kitchen, focusing on expanding & improving our beverage category, giving customers more choice with new flavours and formats, alongside making cost savings & reducing complexities.
• You’ll be an excellent communicator with our bar co-manufacturers and suppliers via clear and concise concept briefs and feedback.
• With all the new and exciting projects coming up, you’ll be happy with some travel, particularly within the UK, EU & U.S, to work closely with our suppliers and factories (such as for trials & 1st productions).
• You will be pretty savvy when it comes to business strategy and have working knowledge of how to consider nutritional targets, while satisfying price, quality, technical & operational parameters.
• Ensure our product raw materials are always fit for purpose by continuously testing alternative ingredients in our recipes. This also means working with our Procurement function on any changes required!
• Collaborating with the Technical team & external suppliers on sensory testing for new and existing products to always ensure we are developing best-in-class products for our customers!
• Evaluating our products pre and post launch with Quality and Technical teams - ensuring consistency in scale up from kitchen concept through to launch and beyond.

What we're looking for in you

• Our product developer is best suited to someone with a Nutrition &/or Food Science degree and who has already had at least 2 years of NPD experience.
• Experience with launching new products is key as well as experience with creating and building project briefs to suppliers.
• Experience working closely with internal and external stakeholders e.g co-manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers as you will be driving the process and making improvements where needed!
• Our new product developer must be a do-er, at Huel, everyone is willing to get creative and get stuck into anything and everything..
• We are looking for someone who is willing to grow - this means walking into the role with a big growth mindset and willing to take on new challenges, and responsibilities when presented to them!
• At Huel, we’re huge on teamwork, so our Product Developer will be able to work effectively independently as well as helping each other when needed.
