Our Teams
Sourcing
Our Sourcing team sits within our wider Operations department and is responsible for purchasing all of the packaging and raw materials that go into both our existing products and future innovations.
They work cross-functionally across Huel, partnering closely with teams such as NPD & Nutrition, Technical, Finance, and Product Supply to make sure everything we create meets our standards from the ground up.
While sourcing is often associated with cost-saving and negotiating the best rates, for us it’s about so much more than that. When we source raw materials, we focus on working with partners who are ethical, sustainable, efficient, and able to scale with our growing demand.
The team speaks with suppliers almost daily and even gets the opportunity to travel globally two to three times a year to visit them in person. Take a look below to see some of their latest adventures ...

Tony's Chocolonely X Huel
As part of our partnership with Tony’s Chocolonely, Steven from our team recently travelled to the Ivory Coast to meet the cocoa farmers we work with through the Open Chain. Seeing the impact first-hand was powerful, from community projects like hospitals, maternity wards and libraries, to farmers being paid a Living Income. Through Open Chain, farmers earn up to 80% more than some major chocolate companies pay for cocoa, allowing them to support their families, pay school fees and put food on the table. It’s a real example of how responsible sourcing can drive meaningful change.

Joe's Trip to Poland
Our Packaging Category Manager, Joe, recently visited our pouch supplier in Poland to see the full production process first-hand, from raw plastic resin pellets right through to a finished, printed pouch ready to be filled. The visit provided valuable insight into how our packaging is manufactured, the quality controls in place, and how the supplier is working to improve efficiency and sustainability. Being on site helps us challenge processes, understand production at scale, and keep raising the bar for the packaging that protects our products.

Bek's Trip to France
Our Category Manager, Bek, recently travelled to France to visit one of our ingredient suppliers and see first-hand how our raw materials are grown, cultivated and processed. The visit gave Bek the opportunity to better understand the supplier’s practices, quality standards and approach to sustainability, as well as how they align with Huel’s values. These visits play a key role in maintaining transparency across our supply chain and making confident decisions about the ingredients that go into our food.
