Technical Manager

Job description

Since 2015, we've been growing like no other food business in the UK. We move at pace and are super excited about our recently launched, brand new Ready to Drink range. We are now  looking for a Technical Manager to support us in this new category who will be responsible for making sure we consistently produce and deliver great RTD to our customers globally. You will have a passion for great quality and not afraid to challenge to achieve the very best.

 

  • Support on technical aspects in relation to supplier selection.
  • Provide technical support for internal teams including product development and quality
  • Carry out supplier and product risk assessments, determine, prioritise and implement actions against hazards.
  • Monitor suppliers and develop action plans with suppliers to maintain quality standards and support continuous improvement
  • Work closely with suppliers to establish KPIs and measure conformance against these
  • Attend factory trials and first productions to establish production parameters and ensure product quality and consistency
  • Report technical and quality performance at suppliers to the internal team. Establish improvement plans and report against these.
  • Feed into the internal quality management system
  • Carry out and support with supplier audits and ensure that suppliers implement actions against any non conformances
  • Carry out supplier and product risk assessments, determine, prioritise and implement actions against hazards.

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge and experience in beverage manufacturing, thermal processing and aseptic processing
  • Thorough understanding of food safety criteria
  • Exposure to, and an understanding of  food manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of food legislation and food manufacturing standards
  • Food science or related degree
  • BRC/auditing experience
  • Risk assessment experience
  • Good negotiator and influencing skills
  • Personable and able to build strong relationships

Based in Huel HQ with international travel to meet suppliers.
