Technical Manager

Job description

Since 2015, we’ve been growing like no other food business in the UK. We move at pace and are super excited about our recently launched, brand new Hot & Savoury product. We are now looking for a Technical Manager to support us in this new category, who will be responsible for making sure we consistently produce and deliver great Hot & Savoury to our passionate community of Hueligans across the world.

Based at Huel HQ in Tring, Hertfordshire, with national and international travel to meet suppliers.

What were you’ll be doing

  • Working within a great technical team to produce and deliver the highest quality product
  • Being responsible for food safety & quality of all Huel Hot & Savoury products worldwide
  • Working closely with NPD & Nutrition to develop new products
  • Utilising your technical knowledge to aid supplier selection, process & quality improvements
  • Developing specifications for Hot & Savoury product manufacture
  • Working with our suppliers closely through attending trials, production, developing & monitoring KPI’s as well as driving CI initiatives
  • Providing technical support internally


  • Experience in various food manufacturing sectors including ambient & thermal processing
  • Thorough understanding of food legislation in UK/US markets
  • Driven, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a team
  • Food science or related degree
  • Good auditing skills/Lead auditor experience
  • BRC/TACCP/HACCP & Risk assessment experience
  • Good allergen management knowledge
  • Great negotiating and influencing skills
  • Personable and able to build strong relationships
