Procurement Manager

Since 2015, we’ve been growing like no other food-tech business in the UK. The Procurement Manager is a new role, responsible for ensuring we source competitively and ethically ensuring quality across our supply base. It will require setting up and delivering the global procurement strategy to allow Huel to achieve its potential of being the global leader in Complete Food.

 

  • Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies across food ingredients, packaging and merchandise while remaining ‘business agile’
  • Management of the procurement department
  • Delivering procurement best practice
  • Managing the risks of different market sourcing and the impact to the business
  • Working closely with NPD and helping find the most appropriate suppliers around the world
  • Ensuring contracts are completed for all relevant agreements and have been agreed with the relevant business owner.
  • Managing supplier performance, identifying and assessing potential new suppliers as well as building long term supplier relationships
  • Negotiating with suppliers, improving the trading position in a sustainable way
  • The role is based in Aylesbury with some travel to Canada, USA and German suppliers periodically

 

Requirements

  • Have previously been in a procurement management role for a food business that has scaled fast and successfully
  • Extensive strategic procurement experience within direct materials ideally ingredients in FMCG/Food
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship Management with Strategic Suppliers
  • Highly motivated and commercially aware
  • Are a great communicator and leader, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of a business
  • Detail-orientated, hands-on, results-driven, proactive, driven by sense of ownership and urgency
  • Can handle a ridiculously fast-pace environment
  • An unwavering desire for continuous improvement
  • Have the ability and energy to work independently
